Ideas bloom only if we grow them.

Intro

Hello, my name is Evan. I’m a freelance Creative Director/Writer based in the USA. Recently I started my own thing over at Midipop Idea Co.

My rules of green thumb:

  • Creativity thrives best in a judgment-free environment.

  • Only after allowing things to sprout do we then begin weeding.

    _____

  • The more naturally an idea extends into any and every form of media, the better the idea.

  • The more intrinsic talk value the idea possesses, the better the idea.

    _____

  • We live in an attention-based economy just as much as a monetary one.

  • Attention must be earned.

    _____

  • Every single point of contact a person has with your company is a chance to improve your reputation.

  • Advertising = reputation management.

    _____

  • Mind your medium, but craft your message.

Experience

I’ve worked full-time at both VML and Fitzco in Atlanta, GA; as well as at Saatchi & Saatchi in Los Angeles, CA.

Before that, I worked freelance at Leo Burnett in Chicago, IL; Crispin in Boulder, CO; and We Are Alexander in St. Louis, MO.

I also interned at BBDO in New York, NY and at New Honor Society in St. Louis, MO.

What does all that mean for you?

It means I bring a decade’s worth of expertise, honed across brands and agencies of every size, to every single assignment, collaboration, project, or business problem that comes my way.

Closing remarks

I hope you’ve enjoyed your time perusing my little corner of the world wide web.

Personally, I will forever remain a student of advertising, big ideas, and communication arts. It’s the only industry I’ve encountered that matches my crazy.

Above all else, let’s please remember to treat people like people. Human beings are more than just data points with wallets.

It’s the golden rule all over again: Talk to your consumer the way you would want to be talked to. How unexpectedly Biblical.

Peace, love, and understanding,
-Evan Miguel
